Summary:
This position manages all aspects of purchasing materials and services in the most efficient and cost effective methods to support production. Ensures all production machines have everything needed at the proper time and in the most minimal quantity to keep inventory low. Services the customer through proper handling of customer purchase order and all specifications.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
1. Enters customer purchase order in computer system with aid of Product Engineers ensuring that all necessary information, parameters, pricing, specifications are communicated to all departments. This may include setting up of part numbers, and Bills of Materials.
2. Acts as the central contact for all the vendors.
a. Orders all raw materials, components and services from the vendors. This includes shipping, office, and janitorial supplies; facilities services such as snowplowing and cleaning.
b. Enters supplier purchase orders and all supplier pricing into the computer, adjusting release quantities to meet production schedules
c. Resolves vendor delivery issues and ensures communication with production leaders
d. Works with the vendor on the build out of product during the design change of a part.
e. Participates in price negotiations for purchased components/supplies
f. Qualifies new suppliers, adds them to the computer system, and initiates any financial paperwork for Accounts Payable.
g. Ensures suppliers are informed of all company requirements to do business including safety standards, confidentiality, liability forms, etc to protect the company
3. Maintains mainframe inventory for all suppliers and communicates weekly with Management to show inventory quantities and delivery date.
4. Posting all receivers to trans4m for incoming material. maintaining weekly & monthly inventory
5. Corrects the inventory and works to prevent inaccurate inventories, by implementing cycle counts as necessary
6. Coordinate monthly scrap recycling shipments
7. File invoices/receivers as required.
8. Assist truck driver to tag incoming raw material, unload/load trucks, put away purchased components as needed
9. Perform some administrative tasks as needed.
10. Coordinates and participates in annual physical inventory.
11. Responsible for continuous improvement of the entire material process.
12. Any and all tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
1-3 years manufacturing environment (purchasing materials/components/inventory experience required)
Strong customer service experience
Able to build strong supply relationships
Strong Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook skills
Good oral and written communication skills.
Knowledge of the assembly and molding operations.
Ability to work in a team or individual environment
Self-motivated
Must be able to work a flexible schedule including overtime and weekends
